Final Briefing - Under 14's County Festival on Sunday

Friday 20 April 2018

Copy of mail sent to lead coaches 20.04.18

Hi All

Re Under 14’s County Festival on Sunday at Tynedale – I caught up with Gary yesterday just touching base before the Festival on Sunday …...

Arrival Time - There is Sunday morning rugby at Tynedale and those that are at the club in the morning have been asked to be away by 12.30pm latest.

With that in mind, can you please ask parents not to arrive until after 12.15pm (nearer 12.30 would be ideal) so car park is cleared and we don’t have issues with access down the drive.

Matches – I have the schedule and there will be plenty of copies on the day.  Four pitches in use with first matches scheduled to kick off at 1pm.

You will need to provide your own match balls and referees for the games (there are no Society referees available).

Last match in Pool One (Whitley Bay Rockcliff 1, Alnwick, Novos Outlaws, Novos Rebels, Morpeth 1 and Percy Park) should kick off at 3.20pm.

Last match in Pool Two (Tynedale, Whitley Bay Rockcliff 2, Morpeth 2, Blyth and Ponteland) should kick off at 3pm.

Clubs with two teams - players should not be swapping between teams on the day.  Players stay in the team they start with.

As this is a Festival, scores are not being recorded.  There are no trophies or medals – these were replaced with the “Big One” tickets so the players have already had their reward.

Coaches briefing will be just after 12.30pm (meet in front of the clubhouse).

Physio Cover – County and Tynedale physio Lee Miller will be at Tynedale on Sunday.  Lee will probably wander around the pitches, however, to ensure you can get hold of him wherever he is, this is his mobile number XXXXXXXXXX – lead coaches, please add it to your contacts for Sunday.

County Officials – Lee Weatherley, Gary Robson and myself are all at Tynedale on Sunday so come find us if you need us!

Please remind parents, spectators, players and coaches they need to follow the core values of the game (teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship).  Applaud and cheer everyone and criticise no one.  Abuse will not be tolerated and anyone who does not follow the core values will be asked to leave the ground.

Refreshments – players are not being fed so need to bring their own refreshments and snacks.

Lucy will have tea/coffee/cans of pop as well as the usual bacon and/or sausage butties available for sale in the clubhouse.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Claire
