End of Term Newsletter to Schools from ERFSU

Please find attached a newsletter from the ERFSU thanking you for your on-going support and emphasising some important pieces of information:

- Statement on Age-Grade Rugby, you have recently received the Northumberland Age Grade Structure for 2018-19 which aims to ensure ensure our programme is player centred with competitions available that are suitable for all levels of development - initial, emerging and elite.

- Welfare and CONCUSSION - the RFU have a concussion code of practice ensuring all staff who are involved in rugby, as a minimum, have completed the on-line concussion resource.  There is also a Northumberland Protocol which assists schools, clubs, DPP, rugby league and Durham to ensure parents are aware when a player has been concussed and the GRTP protocol to be followed.

- As an ERFSU member, among other benefits,  you are eligible for International tickets.  Due to GDPR the RFU are now only able to contact the named ticket contact on the RFU's Game Management System (GMS).  PLEASE ensure your school has registered and updated this information.

-Northumberland County Schools' contacts are:

Chair - Rob Snow; Hon Secretary - Ed Midcalf, ERFSU Representative and Discipline - Chris Davy.  The County Office will forward any queries:

Claire Sharpe, Druid Park, Woolsington, Newcastle upon Tyne NE13 8DF, Tel. 0191 2864399, Email claire.sharpe@northumberlandrfu.co.uk

We would like each school to “commit” to the Age Grade statement and Education Concussion Code of Practice – on this  link:

If schools have any issues with registering on GMS, please ask them to email schools@therfu.com
