A fundraising concert, organised by the RFU and NRU, in aid of Try for Change and the RFU Injured Players Foundation was hosted by the RFU President, Chris Kelly, at Bamburgh Castle on the evening of the 28th June.
Over 140 guests, including a host of rugby VIPs, invaded Bamburgh Castle to enjoy a champagne reception and canapes on the Battery Terrace with idyllic views across to the Farne Islands. The weather was kind with full sunshine and little breeze, making this the perfect start to a magical evening.
This was followed by a magnificent concert, including several rousing rugby favourites such as Sweet Chariot and Jerusalem, performed by the captivating Faryl Smith in the fabulous setting of the majestic Kings Hall, with an auction and raffle taking place at half time. This enchanting evening concluded with a fabulous BBQ feast provided by Emily Botham Ltd and a total of over £10,000 was raised for the two charities.
