Eight members of North Shields RFC's under-7's mini rugby section have spent the day at Twickenham, thanks to winning a place on the Persil Pitch Day.
After a warm welcome at the stadium, they were given a guided tour of the changing rooms by former England international and World Cup winner, Will Greenwood.
They were then running down the tunnel onto the famous turf for a 45 minutes training session with their coaches, Dave Hardy and Mark Ross.
After singing along to the national anthem and joining in with the Tongan haka, the players all settled into the stands to watch a live screening of the England v Tonga game on the stadium screens, while enjoying a BBQ.
Coach Dave Hardy said, "This was a fantastic day for our young players. Persil organised an unforgettable experience which will hopefully make lifelong rugby memories. We're still a relatively new mini section at North Shields, but numbers are growing weekly and this was a perfect reward for the commitment shown on a weekly basis by our players, coaches and parents".
North Shields mini rugby meet every Sunday morning from 10.30am to midday at their clubhouse at Preston Playing Fields, behind Tynemouth swimming pool. The first two weeks are free and only £2 a week thereafter and everyone gets a free hot dog after training and they are welcoming new players, boys and girls, aged between 4 and 11 years old.
