Alnwick RFC smashes 1960 Challenge

Friday 31 July 2020

Alnwick was reformed in 1960 and celebrated their 60th birthday in July and celebrated by challenging their squads to complete a 1960 challenge!

The Ladies Touch team completed 2,166 miles during the month of July with the Minis and Juniors successfully completing various challenges to clock up an amazing 3,475 miles.  Finally in one day, the Colts, Seniors and Male Touch squads turned up and smashed the 1,960 target of lapping the pitch by completing a total of 2,388 laps.

A brilliant effort by all involved.

Alnwick RFC have set up a donation page for anyone who would like to support their efforts and will be donating half of the money raised to the Great North Air Ambulance with the other half going to raise funds for the club.  A small amount really does make a big difference to both the club and the Great North Air Ambulance, who rely solely on charity money to keep going. GNAA has served our Club, County and some of its members well over the years and Alnwick RFC really would like to show their thanks back to them.
