Under 13’s DPP Rugby – 18.12.17
General Update and Information for Parents and Coaches
Welcome to the Under 13’s DPP Programme for Season 2017-18!
Its an exciting time to be joining and involved in the DPP programme as many things are happening at the moment as we refine the programme based on feedback from those involved in the last couple of years.
There will be ten sessions over the course of the season, broken into two blocks of five with the fifth session in each block taking the form of a Festival to be played at Kingston Park.
We are very lucky to be working very closely with the Falcons Academy coaching team, some of whom will be at the Induction Session on the 28th January.
The first block of five dates beginning on the 28th January are now being finalised and information will be put on relevant pages on the website in the coming weeks. This first block of five sessions finishes on Saturday 7th April with the Festival at Kingston Park. There will then be a break before the next block of five sessions begins.
Ash Smith is the lead coach for the West Centre, Dougie Hall is the lead coach for the North Centre, Rob Ogilvie is the lead for the City Centre while Andy Wilkinson is lead coach for the U13's Coast and George Purdy the lead for the U14's Coast. Contact details for people involved in the coaching and administration of the DPP programme can be found on the relevant age group and area page.
If any Under 13’s coaches would like to get involved with the DPP coaching programme, please do get in touch with Claire at the County Office firstname.lastname@example.org Please note you need to be a minimum of a Level Two coach.
As well as having individual age group and area pages on the website, we also use the home page on the website to communicate with you – events notifications and the NRU Twitter feed. The main method of communication with you is a DPP Facebook page for parents. Note, this is a closed group for U13 and U14 DPP Rugby only.
The link to the Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/groups/NorthumberlandDPP/
Please do join as lead coaches will use this page to get messages to players – just make sure you read what is relevant to your age group and area (we will make sure messages are clearly marked for the relevant group!). If any sessions have to be postponed due weather etc, it will be the facebook page that is updated as this is the quickest way to get messages out to you as lead coaches can post as soon as a decision is made. Please do get into the habit of checking the facebook page on the day of any sessions in case of any last minute changes.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Claire at the County Office on 0191 2864399 / email@example.com.
Please note, if you have not already completed and returned the Representative Rugby Form for your son / guardian, please do so as soon as possible as he will not be allowed to participate on the 28th January unless paperwork has been completed.
