Pete Jones has been appointed as head coach of Northumberland U18 girls programme for 24/25. Pete has been involved in rugby for over 32 years and has spent the majority of these involved in coaching. He has coached in a number of environments including U18 girls, Chester RFC men at level 4, Lancashire Women and Novos Women in the Championship North 1. Over the last 2 years Pete has been a familiar figure coaching the County U16 girls, U18 girls, County Women and Newcastle Falcons DPP programme. During this time he has attained the England Rugby Advanced Coaching award (level 3).
The coaching team for this season includes Olivia Rowe, Matt Tucker, Jack Smith and Yvonne Lees. Alan Gardiner is the Team Manager.
Northumberland RFU Director of Rugby, Ian Moralee, said “We are delighted to welcome Pete and his coaching team to the U18 programme. This season will be the first in which all the lead coaches in the girls and women’s representative are England Rugby Advanced Coaches (Level 3). Hopefully their experience and knowledge, together with coach development we will be undertaking this year will start producing top quality coaches throughout Northumberland clubs.”
