Emergency First Aid Course

Emergency First Aid in rugby Union

June 2021 – A reminder on the new process in place for booking EFARU courses.

Clubs should have received information around the EFARU course via the Community Game Update. Here is the information that is available explaining the process a club must follow to book a course, ensuring that they have the minimum number (8) for the course to run and that the venue is Covid compliant. (please see club requirements for hosting a Covid safe EFARU course) Within the document is a flow chart explaining each step of the process both the club and tutor need to follow.

The EFARU Tutor map has the location and contact details of the current EFARU workforce.  Our tutors are Cathryn Clark and Andy Wilkinson.

We only have a 1 day course available to book, which costs £75 per person. This will need to be paid for at the point of booking onto the course on GMS and currently we don’t have the function to invoice. Part funding may be available to you or your club through NRU. The budget has not yet been agreed. Please field questions regarding that via John Clapperton your incoming CB RugbySafe Lead and he can approach the appropriate NRU Director.

If the course is open, volunteers can find the course using https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/coursefinder

If the course is closed, a link will be forwarded to the Tutor and the Club contact organising the course.

Please remember that it is the club RugbySafe leads or club contact responsibility to ensure the course is able to run.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Cathryn or Andy.
