Share This Post

Northumberland Rugby Union is seeking dynamic and committed volunteers to join the Representative Women’s and Girls programme for the 24/25 season and beyond.

In 2021 the RFU launched its Inclusivity and Diversity plan which was designed to build a sport that better reflects society. Northumberland RFU is totally invested in driving this plan forward and committed to support the diversification of its coaching workforce.

There has never been a more exciting time for women’s and girls’ rugby. As one of the fastest-growing sports for women and girls, rugby offers a dynamic and empowering environment where they can thrive, as evidenced by the success of the Red Roses. With the Women’s World Cup 2025 on the horizon, now is the perfect time to get involved.

Opportunities are available in the following programmes;

Northumberland Senior Women

Northumberland U18 Girls

Northumberland U16 Girls DPP

We wish to hear from people who believe they have the experience and skill to deliver quality coaching to the above programmes.  Team manager positions are also available.

Experienced players wishing to make the transition into coaching should apply, as assistance to achieve the England Rugby Coaching Award will be available.

County coaches will have the opportunity to take part in a programme of continuous personal development which Northumberland RFU will be providing via coaching mentors.  The programme is designed to improve your performance as a coach, which will benefit NRU and your own clubs.  This programme will be at the forefront of coach development.
